MARS! The inhospitable red planet

Introduction
Have you ever wondered why people don’t live on Mars? I am going to teach you everything I know about Mars. Mars is named after a Roman god of war. It is a planet that has red dust everywhere, volcanes and sand storms, which last for months! Mars is a planet that humans have never explored.

Appearance
Mars is a red planet, that is also the fourth planet in our solar system.
Mars  has the biggest volcano in the solar system this volcano is call M.T Olympus Mons Mars sits right . Next to Earth so it’ is like their neighbours on Mars it has two moons one  big and one small one Mars  has no h2o and 02. Mars has frozen polar caps like Earth. Mars is a very rocky surface mars is  also a very dangerous planet because it is very very cold . But in earth you can only get skin cancer when when it is hot and you have to wear hats and sunscreen on but at  Mars you can get skin cancer very quickly but not that quick.

The Orbit of Mars
Even though Mars is our closest neighbour, its orbit is very different. A Martian day (or how long it takes to rotate once on its axis) is longer than an Earth day and equals 24 hours and 37 minutes. This is because it spins slower than our planet. Moreover, a year on Mars is the same as 687 Earth days! Imagine if you lived on Mars, you would be almost half the age you were on Earth!

Could humans live on Mars.
It will be very difficult for humans to live on mars. Cause mars has no magnetic field and They can also get skin cancer and there is no H2o on mars and it is uninhabitable and there is no O2 on mars. It has an thin atmosphere . Mars has frozen polar caps like Earth mars is a very rocky surface mars is also a very dangerous planet which it is very cold . but in earth you can only get skin cancer when when it is hot and you have to wear hats and sunscreen on but at  Mars you can get skin cancer very quickly.

Conclusion

Mars’ is a very interesting planet to learn about with all those dust storms which takes for months. If you want to learn more about Mars’ then go to http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/planets/mars.html.
